Subject: Bannockburn Citizens Association meeting, Thursday at 7:30 pm.
Date Sent: November 28, 2011

Please join us at the Bannockburn Citizens Association's meeting on
Thursday December 1, 2011 at 7:30 pm.

This will be our year-end meeting featuring holiday cheer with eggnog, coffee and cookies. Bring your children, even if they can only stay for a while. We particularly would like to welcome our new neighbors.

We will have reports from our several committees, including our new Neighborhood Security Committee.  As always, the meeting will be an opportunityto visit with your neighbors, discuss BCA activities, and pass along news and comments.

I recently received an update on the work being done along Booze Creek.  The first (upstream) portion of the project is mostly complete.  The items which need to be finished for this are the planting of trees and shrubs, which should be complete by mid-December.  Implementation of the second portion of the project (downstream to Cabin John Parkway) has started and is expected be complete (including planting) by the end of April.  The County is aware of neighbors’ desire for a trail along the creek.  This is something that is not included in the stream restoration project, but I was informed that a trail might be established by repeated use, or we could press for a more formalized trail that is part of the county’s network.  Finally, the County will coordinate with us to schedule a stream walk when the project is complete in the spring.  We will keep you updated.  In the meantime, please contact me with any questions or comments.

Best wishes,
Ted Garrett
BCA President
