Subject: BCA Activities and March 8 Meeting

March 8 meeting. This is a reminder to please mark your calendar for our next Bannockburn Citizens Association (BCA) meeting on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at St. Mark Church. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 pm, and the meeting should end by 9 pm. At the meeting, with April 15 approaching, we will have a presentation by our neighbor Chaya Kundra, an attorney with the law firm Kundra and Associates, who will discuss tax tips and checklists for individual taxpayers. We will also have reports from our committees. As always, the meeting will be an opportunity to visit with your neighbors and pass along news and comments.
Activities. The BCA Good Neighbors Committee has planned the following activities that are aimed at helping our neighbors to know each other better.
Friday morning neighborhood walks. Walks are held each Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am. Meet at the corner of Broxburn Drive and Loch Lomond Drive.
Knitters and stitchers group. Margaret Pourhamidi, who is a master knitter, will sponsor a group for people to work on their own handiwork projects. Participants will enjoy company, coffee, and advice from each other. The first meeting will be held Thursday March 15 from 2-4 pm at Margaret and Abol Pourhamidi’s home at 7312 Helmsdale Road. Walks at various times and places to meet special interests. These walks could be in the neighborhood, along Booze Creek, on the other side of Wilson Lane, along the C & O Canal towpath, or along Cabin John Creek. The first walk will be held Sunday March 25 at 10 am. Meet at the intersection of Helmsdale Road and Selkirk Drive. We will walk along Booze Creek if conditions are suitable. Potluck Lunch. Edith Miles will sponsor a potluck lunch Thursday April 19 at 1 pm at her home at 7202 Broxburn Drive. Phone 301-320-3299 or e-mail ewmiles@comcast.net if you plan to come and bring a dish.
