Subject: BCA Meeting On Thursday: Can The US Natural Gas Boom Curb Russia?
Date Sent: March 12, 2014

Please join us at our next Bannockburn Citizens Association meeting on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 pm at St. Marks.

Can the boom in US natural gas curb Russia? Find out on Thursday. Our speaker will be our neighbor and BCA Board Member Ben Schlesinger, who will discuss energy issues. Dr. Schlesinger is one of the leading independent energy consultants, specializing in gas and electricity marketing, infrastructure, trading practices, and strategic planning worldwide. He is a former vice-president of the American Gas Association and has testified before the U.S. Congress and numerous states on the direction of the gas industry, gas contracting, royalty valuations, hedging and risk management, and related industry practices. Dr. Schlesinger is a past president of the US Association for Energy Economics and currently teaches a graduate level course in energy economics at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy. This is a great opportunity to get up to speed on this dynamic and important subject.

As always, the meeting will be an opportunity to visit with your neighbors, discuss BCA activities, and pass along news and comments. We would particularly like to welcome new neighbors.

Dues for 2014 were due on January 1. You can pay via PayPal on our website, or you can send your check for $30 (or more) payable to Bannockburn Citizens Association to Bonnie Garrett, BCA Treasurer, 6604 Broxburn Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817.

I look forward to seeing you Thursday.

Best wishes,

Ted Garrett,
BCA President
