Thursday's Meeting Cancelled/Snow Storm Information
Due to the anticipated snow storm, we are cancelling the Bannockburn Citizens Association meeting scheduled for tomorrow. We are looking at options to reschedule the meeting, starting with next Thursday March 12. Stay tuned.
The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for Montgomery County, beginning 12:01 am Thursday. Resident should prepare for heavy snowfall/sleet accumulations of at least 6 inches. Travel disruptions within the County and region are likely as roads quickly become snow covered and icy.
While you are snow bound on Thursday, you might want to check out the BCA website. There is a useful "Links" page with useful numbers for emergency and non-emergency contacts (police, fire, hospital), utilities (electric, telephone, trash collection) .
To report snow removal problems or downed trees, call 240-777-6000. If a County plow has damaged your mailbox, the County will install a standard post and mailbox at your residence. Call 240-777-6000 to file a report. If you have a non-standard mailbox, call 240-777-8920. For a street that may have been missed by County plows you can call 311 or a report can be made via the County Web site.
Make sure you have a battery-operated radio and flashlight, extra prescription medication, and charge cell phones or other critical battery-operated equipment in your home.
Please stay off the roads during dangerous driving conditions. If you must drive, make sure you have a full tank of gas. Include an emergency kit in your car with extra blankets, some food and water, a cell phone, and a first-aid kit.
