September 7 BCA Meeting Featuring Airport Noise Discussion

Please join us at our next Bannockburn Citizens Association meeting on Thursday, September 7 at 7:30 PM at St. Mark.

As always, the meeting will be an opportunity to visit with your neighbors, discuss BCA activities, hear reports from our Committees, and pass along news and comments. We would particularly like to welcome new neighbors.

Our meeting will feature remarks by our neighbors Ann Hollander and Bekki Sims, who have been representing our neighborhood in the county's Quiet Skies coalition. MC Quiet Skies is a coalition of concerned citizens and community associations from over 20 Montgomery County neighborhoods, including our own Bannockburn Citizens Association. Quiet Skies is working with residents, elected officials, the FAA and others to resolve the excessive levels of noise, air pollution, and health and safety risks imposed on our communities by the FAA's flight paths and procedures at Reagan National Airport. This will be an opportunity for all neighbors to be briefed on these issues and what is being done to address them.

In addition, all neighbors who are concerned with airplane noise and pollution issues are requested to send their names and emails to Bekki Sims bboo730@gmail.com, who will set up a listserv to keep you informed about developments.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 7. In the meantime, enjoy our nice weather and the Labor Day weekend.

Best Wishes,
Ted Garrett,
BCA President
