BCA Meeting this Thursday (March 5)
Date Sent: March 3, 2020

UPCOMING EVENTS
General Meeting
Thursday, March 5, 2020
at St Mark's

Dear Neighbor:

Please attend our next Bannockburn Citizens Association meeting this Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 pm at St. Mark’s (see directions below). As usual, the meeting will be an opportunity to visit with your neighbors and discuss BCA activities.

The County’s Quiet Skies Coalition collaborates with other noise activists around the country on legislative and judicial efforts to reduce airport noise and pollution. Our Montgomery County issues are part of a bigger problem and a nationwide effort. At our meeting Ann Hollander, our representative on the County coalition, will report on recent developments and future activities. Click here to file Noise Complaints: https://viewpoint.bksv.com/dca3. If you have any questions about the Coalition, you can email to: mont.co.quietskies@gmail.com

Spring Festival. Our annual Spring Festival will be held in May again, date and details to be forthcoming. It should be a great event for neighbors of all ages. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Bonnie Garrett, bonniexgarrett@gmail.com.

Website: Our new Website Committee Chair is Matt Koll, who applied his tech smarts to resuscitate and update our website, which was sorely needed. Let us know if there is anything on the website that appears to need updating.

Construction. Our Covenants Committee chair, Mark Pollack, continues to monitor construction and permit applications in the neighborhood and communicates with owners and builders about compliance with the BCA covenants. If you learn of, or have questions about, a new construction, renovation or sale, contact Mark at pollakm@personalcarecouncil.org

Welcome Committee. Gala Voyt and Cecily Abrams visit and welcome new BCA neighbors. You will often know about new neighbors before we do. If you learn of new arrivals to the neighborhood or would like to help on this committee, please email Gala at galavoyt@gmail.com

Neighborhood Security. The committee, headed by John Hannula, works with our block captains and the county to monitor incidents and make suggestions improve neighborhood security. John also passes along information from the county police. If you have suggestions or wish to volunteer to be a block captain, contact John Hannula at john_hannula@yahoo.com. Remember: if you see something suspicious, call the police non-emergency number 301-279-8000 or 911 for a crime in progress.

Dues for 2019 were due in January. See the dues coupon below. Your dues support BCA’s contribution to our community, such as our festivals, general meetings, and other activities.

I look forward to seeing you on March 5. Best wishes,

Best Wishes,
Ted Garrett,
BCA President
